Abstract
A geometric mesh is a discretization of space and is used by a computer to perform a simulations using a numerical method. The speed with which the calculations are performed depend directly on the number of nodes in the grid. Adaptive methods allow to concentrate a greater amount of nodes in areas of interest to the simulation. This requires having transition patterns that can generate a congruent mesh.In this work improvements to transition patterns are explored. For this purpose, the quality of different alternatives is compared. Also certain configurations that lead to produce poor quality meshes are identified, which is contextualized as future work.
