Abstract
Actualmente, en un contexto de responsabilidad, al ser el eje estructurante del transporte público de Santiago de Chile y el responsable del aseguramiento de la confiabilidad de los equipos, Metro SA requiere definir la implementación del plan de mantenimiento de uno de sus 3 sistemas embarcados históricamente más importantes para la operación. En particular, se requiere evaluar la implementación del plan de mantenimiento mayor del mecanismo de puertas de pasajeros para trenes de tecnología NS93. 
El trabajo se centra en el levantamiento de los parámetros asociados a la curva característica de confiabilidad de las puertas. Como resultado se obtiene, a partir de análisis de datos censurados asistido con software Statgraphics, un parámetro de forma y uno de escala. Con estos parámetros y teniendo en cuenta para cada tren la fecha proyectada de inicio del mantenimiento, es obtenida la probabilidad de falla acumulada. 
La alta probabilidad de falla sumada a la vida actual acumulada crea la necesidad de decidir con urgencia la mejor alternativa de mantenimiento para evitar que se siga perdiendo confiabilidad en este sistema. A través de una ponderación de factores cualitativos y cuantitativos se elige la mejor alternativa para la implementación de la estrategia de mantenimiento.
In a context of responsibility, by being the structural axis and the responsible for the reliability of the equipment’s of public transportation in Santiago of Chile, Metro S.A. requires definition on the implementation of the maintenance plan for one of its three most historically important embedded systems for operation. In particular, it is necessary to evaluate the implementation of major maintenance for the passenger’s door mechanism in its NS93 train technology. The work is centered in collecting parameters associated with the reliability characteristics of its doors. From the censored-data analysis assisted with software Statgraphics, is obtained a form parameter and a scale parameter. With these parameters and considering the projected date for maintenance initiation for each train, the cumulative probability of failure is obtained. This high probability of failure added to the accumulated current life creates the need to urgently decide the best maintenance alternative to prevent further loss of reliability in this system. Through the balance of qualitative and quantitative factors is chosen the best alternative for the implementation of the maintenance strategy.
