Abstract
The project responds to the problem of traffic congestion on the main street of the city of La Cruz (Av. 21 de Mayo), proposing an architectural solution through the mobilisation of the municipality. According to the analyses carried out, the population concentration is mainly towards the south of the city. Traffic studies indicate that there are nearby areas that are not congested and have services available. From an overlay analysis, 3 possible locations are identified, with the most suitable option being 1km from the current location. This new location is close to the core of the town, between two important avenues (Av. 21 de Mayo and Av. Santa Cruz), has a low level of traffic and offers a considerable extension of land. The project for the new Municipal Park-Building has as its central concept ‘crossing the forest’ and as a second idea, spatial fragmentation, inspired by the reinterpretation of the mapping of the city. It uses passive bioclimatic strategies and is based on a vertical programmatic distribution that favours programmatic permeability. This approach aims to integrate the architectural space harmoniously with its surroundings, improving both functionality and accessibility for the inhabitants of La Cruz.
