Abstract
This thesis explores the ecological, territorial, and social value of urban wetlands, focusing on their protection under Chilean law, particularly Law No. 21.202. Using the interurban wetland in Quilpué as a case study, it examines current threats and potential strategies for restoration and activation. Based on this diagnosis, the project proposes an ecological urban park that integrates the wetland as an active component of the landscape, merging conservation strategies, sustainable design, and community participation. The work bridges regulatory frameworks and landscape architecture, offering a replicable public space model for urban peripheries in the face of ecological and social challenges.
