Abstract
The project develops the launch of a blueberry processing plant, analyzing all possible aspects of the market and competition to assess its technical and economic feasibility, focusing solely on one raw material supplier: small-scale farmers. The project aims to be located in the Maule region, specifically in the Parral commune, an area where blueberries are abundant and small-scale agriculture is highly prevalent. The blueberry market, both globally and locally, is in constant development due to the positive reception from consumers and the health benefits it offers, which opens a propitious opportunity to invest in such projects. From a technical perspective, it is evident that the construction option is entirely feasible, with all necessary resources available within the country for the construction and commencement of the plant's operations. The relationship between the farmers and the processing plant is argued based on mutual benefit when obtaining the fruit costs, generating growth scales. Regarding the economic and financial study, the results are decisive in demonstrating the project's viability, achieving positive Net Present Values (NPV) and Internal Rates of Return (IRR) that are at least 5% higher than the chosen discount rate for the development. This concludes that the project is profitable, viable, and sustainable over time, providing returns in both situations studied.
