Determinar estadísticamente las condiciones de operación de una máquina de fabricación de cartón corrugado

Abstract

El presente trabajo de titulación tiene por objetivo general, determinar las condiciones de operación de una máquina de fabricación de cartón corrugado, permitiendo obtener una mejor relación de las variables de respuesta, a través de la aplicación de métodos estadísticos. Se inicia con un estudio y recopilación de antecedentes generales, que permiten describir las características productivas de la planta, las variables del proceso, y reconocer el contexto en que el proyecto se desarrollará, para poder identificar que la herramienta más eficaz para este caso es el Diseño de Experimentos. La propuesta de cómo obtener las características de operación para cada cartón se obtiene al utilizar una metodología basada en el ciclo DMAIC propuesta por Martin Tanco, la cual facilita el uso de Diseño de Experimentos en problemas industriales. La aplicación se realiza haciendo uso del software Minitab, el cual actúa como soporte en la aplicación de las herramientas estadísticas utilizadas. Tras realizar e implementar un plan piloto se valida la metodología. Posteriormente se replica en otros tipos de cartones, permitiendo además de determinar las configuraciones de operación de dichos cartones, obtener conclusiones respecto al comportamiento de las variables involucradas, pudiendo definir aquellas que son críticas en cada caso. El impacto directo es la disminución de la variación de las condiciones de operación estudiadas, mostrando un claro potencial del proyecto. Se entrega además una propuesta técnica que presenta recomendaciones para las áreas de operaciones y mantenimiento, en la cual se exponen sugerencias de distintas temáticas que se evidencian durante el desarrollo del estudio, como el funcionamiento del sistema de control, capacitaciones y futuros proyectos. Finalmente, se realiza un análisis que indica qué características debe poseer una organización para utilizar el DoE como una herramienta cotidiana en sus actividades de mejoramiento, y qué elementos se deben considerar para aplicar esta herramienta de manera puntual en organizaciones de tamaño medio o pequeño, y bajo grado de madurez.The general objective of this degree project is to establish the operational conditions of a corrugated cardboard manufacturing machine, allowing the best results to be obtained from the feedback indicators through the use of statistical methods. It is initiated with a study and compilation of general background, which allow to describe the production features of the factory, the variables of the process, and to acknowledge the context in which the project will be developed, to be able to identify that the most effective tool for this case is the Design of Experiments. The approach of how to obtain the operating characteristics for each cardboard is obtained by using a working methodology based on the DMAIC cycle proposed by Martin Tanco, which simplifies the use of Design of Experiments in engineering issues. The implementation is done using Minitab software, which acts as a support in the use of statistical tools. After carrying out and implementing a pilot plan, the methodology is then validated. Afterwards, it is replicated in other types of cardboards, which allows, in addition to establishing the operating configurations of such cardboards, to obtain conclusions with respect to the performance of the variables involved, being able to define those that arecritical in each case. The direct impact is the reduction of the variations of the investigated operating conditions, showing a clear project potential. In addition, a technical proposal is submitted that includes recommendations for the areas of operations and maintenance, in which suggestions are presented on various subjects that are evident during the course of the research, such as how the control system works, training and future projects. Finally, an analysis is carried out which indicates what features an organisation must have in order to use the DoE as a daily tool in their continuous improvement activities, as well as what elements must be considered in order to implement this tool in a precise manner in medium or small sized organisations with low levels of maturity (development).
