OPTIMIZACIÓN DE FLOTA DE CAMIONES GRANELEROS EN INDUSTRIA DE MATERIALES DE CONSTRUCCIÓN MEDIANTE CAMBIOS EN EL MANEJO DE STOCK.

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene por objetivo evaluar la factibilidad de implantar una estrategia de inventarios conocida como VMI, Inventarios Manejados Por el Proveedor, para una empresa dedicada a la producción y comercialización de Cemento con presencia a nivel nacional. Para ello, se hace una revisión bibliográfica acerca del origen y las nuevas tendencias de esta técnica, su implantación en algunas empresas a nivel mundial y los modelos o variantes que se ocuparán para la evaluación. La segunda finalidad de la investigación es la optimización de la flota de camiones graneleros que opera entre el centro productor de cemento, y las plantas de la Región Metropolitana. Se comparan dos modelos de optimización, el de Lote Económico y el de Parámetros utilizado por la empresa en la actualidad. El resultado de la aplicación de estos modelos está en la disminución de los 29 camiones actualmente en operación, a 14 y 17, de acuerdo al modelo de Lote Económico y de parámetros, respectivamente. Posteriormente, se comparan los costos de las alternativas de VMI que es posible implementar, concluyendo que, en todos los casos, los costos de operación mensuales se reducen. En la mejor alternativa y la de mayor factibilidad de implantación, VMI con sincronización entre proveedor y cliente, el ahorro en costos operacionales es de un 24% en comparación con la situación actual. Finalmente, se presenta una sensibilización de los costos de operación al aumento en los horarios de recepción de cemento en las plantas productoras de hormigón, así como a fluctuaciones en el precio del combustible.The present paper has for goal, to evaluate the capability of implanting a known strategy of inventories as VMI, Vendor Managed Inventory, for a enterprise dedicated to the production and commercialization of Cement with presence at national level. For that, a bibliographic revision is done about the origin and the new trends of this technique, their introduction in some companies or enterprises to world level, and the models or variants that will be occupied for the evaluation. The second purpose of the research is the optimization of the fleet of bulker trucks that it operates on between the center producing of cement, and the plants of the Metropolitan Region. Two models of optimization, that of Economic Set and that of paramethres used by the company at present are compared. The result of the application of these models is in operation, to 14 and 17, according to the model of Set Economic and of parameters, in the decrease of the 29 trucks at present respectively. Later, the costs of the alternatives of VMI which it is possible to implement, concluding that, the monthly costs of operation come down to all the cases, are compared. In the best alternative and that of best capability of introduction, VMI with a synchronization between supplier and customer, the saving in operational costs is of 24% in comparison with the current situation. Finally, a sensitization of the costs of operation is presented to the increase in the schedules of reception of cement in the producing plants of concrete, as well as to fluctuations in the price of the fuel.
