ESTUDIO DE FACILIDAD DE USO DE TRES TIPOS DE MENÚ PARA UNA APLICACIÓN MÓVIL

Abstract

La facilidad de uso es un ámbito muy importante de una aplicación móvily que debe ser analizado con mucha atención. Aunque una aplicación seaútil, si es difícil de usar, terminará siendo más un problema que una solución,lo cual implicará que pocos usuarios utilicen la aplicación.Para esto, se desarrolló un estudio de facilidad de uso sobre tres aplicacionescon las mismas funcionalidades pero con distintos menús de navegación,uno con un menú de tipo hamburguesa, otro con pestañas y el último conun botón circular flotante. El fin de este estudio es determinar cuál de losdistintos menús de navegación es más fácil de utilizar y obtiene un mayornivel de satisfacción en los usuarios.Los resultados obtenidos indican que un menú de tipo hamburguesa esmás fácil de utilizar y genera mayor satisfacción en los usuarios que la utilizaronen comparación con las otras tres. Sin embargo, dada la experienciade los usuarios con el menú con pestañas y los resultados obtenidos para estemenú, es que se sugiere una solución que combine ambos tipos de menús,siempre y cuando el número de pestañas no sea mayor a tres.

Usability is a really important aspect of a mobile application and it shouldbe carefully analyzed. Even if an application is useful, if it is hard to use, itwill end up being more of a problem than a solution, which will implicatethat just a few number of users will use it.To avoid this, a usability study has been developed which will be appliedover three applications with the same functionalities but different navigationsmenus, one with a hamburger menu, one with tabs and one with afloating action button. The purpose of this study is to determine which ofthis navigation menus is easier to use and obtains a higher level of satisfactionon users.The results obtained indicate that a hamburger menu is easier to use andbrings more satisfaction to the users that used it in comparison to those whoused the other two menus. Nevertheless, given the experience of the userswith the tab menu and the results obtained for this one, a solution thatcombines both the tab menu and the hamburger menu is suggested, as longas the number of tabs is not bigger than three.
