MODELO DE GESTION PARA MEJORAR LA PRODUCTIVIDAD DE LAS PYMES EN LA INDUSTRIA DE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN

Abstract

Es de público conocimiento en la actualidad que el bajo Crecimiento de Chile se debe encierta parte a la baja productividad laboral de las empresas y de la fuerza laboral enproducción por hora trabajada. Los datos indican que los trabajadores chilenos trabajanmás horas, pero producen (por hora trabajada) muy poco en comparación con los paísesdesarrollados.La Industria de la Construcción no está ajena a esta realidad y por ende debe desarrollarmodelos que mejoren su productividad, a causa que es una industria que aporta casi el10% al PIB y es primordial su desarrollo por su alta demanda de mano de obra. Aquellasempresas que logren un nivel de productividad mayor al del promedio de su industria,tienden a contar con mayores márgenes de utilidad. Y si dicha productividad crece mássus márgenes de utilidad se incrementarán todavía más. Alcanzar y mantener unaproductividad que permita ofrecer un servicio o productos competitivos es la única manerade garantizar una ventaja competitiva y un desarrollo sustentable de la empresa.El objetivo de este trabajo es proponer un Modelo de Gestión para la aplicación deprácticas que mejoren la productividad al interior de empresas constructoras. El Modelopropuesto estará compuesto por ocho etapas secuenciales, que van desde laidentificación de la mejora de la productividad como una oportunidad hasta la revisión ymejora del mismo sistema. Se complementará el trabajo con el desarrollo de conceptosclaves inherentes al tema, como también la indicación de los beneficios de implantarmejoras en la productividad. El trabajo además describirá la situación actual de laindustria en relación a la productividad, enfocándose específicamente en explicar laimportancia de implantar un modelo de gestión en productividad.

It is common knowledge today that the low growth in Chile is due in some part to low laborproductivity of businesses and workforce in output per hour worked. The data indicate thatChile an workers work longer hours, but produce (per hour worked) very little comparedwith developed countries.The construction industry is no stranger to this reality and therefore must develop modelsthat will improve their productivity, because it is an industry that contributes nearly 10% toGDP and is essential to its development by high demand for labor. Those companies thatachieve a higher level of productivity than the industry average, tend to have higher profitmargins. And if productivity grows that their profit margins will increase even more.Achieving and maintaining productivity that allows to offer a service or competitiveproducts is the only way to ensure a competitive advantage and sustainable developmentof the company.The aim of this paper is to propose a management model for the implementation of goodmanagement practices that can improve productivity in construction companies. Theproposed model will consist of eight sequential stages, ranging from the identification ofimproved productivity as an opportunity to review and improve the same system. Workwith the development of related matters, as well as the indication of the benefits ofimplementing productivity improvements will complement key concepts. The work alsodescribes the current situation of the industry in relation to productivity, focusingspecifically on explaining the importance of implementing a management model inproductivity.
