Abstract
Este trabajo permite identificar lineamientos estratégicos, los cuales deben ser considerados al momento de evaluar la incorporación de Telefonía IP en la empresa, de tal forma de determinar si es viable la habilitación total o parcial de esta tecnología o posponer su habilitación para una oportunidad futura más propicia para su implementación. Es necesario explicar y contextualizar aspectos relevantes que permitan sustentar los lineamientos estratégicos, es así como en el capítulo I, se presenta la industria de telefonía y los aspectos principales que diferencian la industria del sector público y la del sector privado. Luego en el capítulo II, se identifica los servicios que entrega la telefonía IP, que ventajas y desventajas, tanto cualitativas como cuantitativas presenta esta tecnología,. Así como un marco de protocolos y estándares técnicos que son relevantes tener en cuenta al momento de la evaluación, dado que estos en particular formarán parte importante en los costos de implementación. Así, se identifican factores claves a tener en cuenta para la determinación de los lineamientos estratégicos buscados. En el capítulo III, se relacionan estos factores claves con las herramientas de medición tradicionales que se utilizan para evaluación de tecnologías, principalmente orientados a mediciones cuantitativas y se establece una relación entre las ventajas y desventajas de la telefonía IP con estas herramientas. Finalmente con los factores claves identificados y entendiendo el alcance de la tecnología para telefonía IP, en el capítulo IV se entregan lineamientos estratégicos que pueden ser utilizados por las empresas para sus procesos de evaluación, y en el capítulo V se presenta un caso práctico que permite identificar que, en ese caso, es rentable y por lo tanto viable la implementación de esta tecnología.
This work allows identifying strategies, which should be considered to the moment to evaluate the IP telephony incorporation in the company, in such a way of determining if it is viable the total or partial qualification of this technology or to postpone its qualification for a more favorable future opportunity for its implementation. To obtain these strategic limits, it is necessary to explain and to contextualize the outstanding aspects that allow to obtain them, are as well as in the chapter I, it is presented the telephony industry and the main aspects that differentiate the industry of the public sector and that of the private sector. Then in the chapter II, it identify the services than IP telephony gives, the advantages and disadvantages, so much qualitative as quantitative than present this technology,. As well as a mark of protocols and technical standards that are outstanding to keep in mind to the moment of the evaluations, since these in particular will be important part in the implementation costs. It will be determined this way key factors to keep in mind for the determination of the looked for strategic limits. In the chapter III, are related these key factors with the traditional tools that are used for evaluation of technologies, mainly oriented to quantitative measuring and a relation between the advantages and disadvantages of the IP telephony with these tools. Finally with the identified key factors and understanding the reach of the technology for IP Telephony, in the chapter IV strategic limits that can be used by the companies for their evaluation processes, and in the chapter V a practical case is presented that it allows to identify a case where it is profitable and the viability to implement this technology.
