Thesis DESPLIEGUE DE UNA PROPUESTA DE VALOR A UN TALLER DE MANTENIMIENTO DE TRENES DE METRO SANTIAGO, UTILIZANDO HERRAMIENTAS DE ESTANDARIZACIÓN DE MEJORA CONTINUA(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) TORRES RIVERA, FELIPE ANTONIO; SARIEGO PASTEN, PEDRO MARCO ANTONIO; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE INGENIERÍA MECÁNICA; GUZMAN BONET LUIS ENRIQUE (Correferente)The standardization process is a continuous improvement tool that aims to support companies to generate a working method whereby the change, waste and imbalance is eliminated from the workload, making operations easier, faster and with fewer cost. This paper seeks to apply this methodology to optimize maintenance of rolling stock running on line 2 of Metro Santiago. For this line, Alstom Chile S.A is in charge of maintenance eleven trains, located in Lo Ovalle workshop, municipality of San Miguel. The study title of this work focused on one of the sixteen developed preventive maintenance in Alstom Chile. It was decided to intervene safety inspection (IS) maintenance performed every 10,000 [Km]. The choice of this maintenance is because it is the most frequent, covering approximately 60% of all maintenance performed during a year. Current status information of Lo Ovalle workshop regarding the maintenance work was collected through site visits, interviews and surveys provided to the technicians working there. With the information collected and subsequently analyzed, deficiencies in maintenance processes were found. Among the main shortcomings are: unnecessary processes, excessive movement and problems with distribution of workloads. Furthermore, the Man Hours necessary to complete this type of maintenance is unknown, and there is unclear how many technicians are required for this work. As result of this, an action plan was established which seek create a value proposal to maintenance, with goal to determine the duration and MH involved in maintenance Safety Inspection (IS), standardization of time tasks, optimization displacement, workload distribution and a new order of sequence for activities. Through site visits where the maintenance was documented and the use of SMED lean manufacturing tool, it was possible to measure the times of each task that makes preventative maintenance Safety Inspection. It was determined that the average duration of MH under current conditions corresponds to 34 ± 7 MH. In addition it is shown that the phase of industrialization which is the Workshop Lo Ovalle, the impact on the duration and quality of maintenance bypasses the number of technicians, corrective changes, or the number of cars that can bring a train. Using the tool "standardization" was achieved manage activities, distribute workloads evenly, creating new work sequences and propose improves to activities that require it, giving as a result a value proposal that hopes to achieve a reduction by 20% in MH coming to: 27 ± 3 MH. This reduction of 20% implies a saving of 104 annual working shifts, being shown that using this tool can rise significantly the productivity, quality of service and reduce costs, remain profitable for the company and improving the perception of the customer.
