    This paper documents the development of a remote control system of a Celestron NexStar telescope and a Nikon DSLR camera. It is presented and explained the investigation made to decide what tools should be used for the system development, which must operate entirely on a Raspberry Pi. To develop the system, the code of multiple modules is created and written using Python as the main programming language. This modules are: the drivers of the telescope and camera, the web server implementation, the web application and the application interface in order to the final user can access to the system remotely. As result of this development, a completely functional remote control system is obtained, which through a web interface permits to the final user activate remotely all the functions that the telescope delivers, and obtains data from it. Also, the system provides the possibility of changing the camera configuration, to know the current value of the image and capture parameters, and remotely activate the image capture. The system modular development is made thinking in the scalabilty of itself, as this will allow it to add more functionality to the work of researchers without any problems. For example, if is required to connect any type of sensor to improve and/or expand the results of astronomical research, it is just necessary to create the control modules for these sensors and then integrate them to the system.
