Thesis ESTUDIO DEL DESEMPEÑO DE COMPONENTES DE LA SUSPENSIÓN SECUNDARIA DE TRENES MODELO NS 74 DE METRO SANTIAGO(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) DOMÍNGUEZ FLORES, CAMILO ANDRÉS; DOMÍNGUEZ FLORES, CAMILO ANDRÉS; SARIEGO PASTEN, PEDRO MARCO ANTONIO; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE INGENIERÍA MECÁNICA; CARMONA MALATESTA, SERGIO ALEJAN; GONZALEZ BAQUEDANO, GUILLERMOIn the modernization Project of the NS-74 trains, it’s decided to realize a performance analysis of the secondary suspension system to check the actual operation status. In this analysis is discovered that the secondary suspension is operating with problems, because of this it’s decided to perform an analysis to the system to check the state of the assembly of its different parts, along with studying the possible causes that could lead to a faulty operation of the system. Before starting the study, this document starts explaining the internal organization of the company that build the trains and in charge of the studies performed, Alstom Chile S.A. After this comes a chapter explaining the train and it’s parts, in this section the most important mechanical components are detailed and explained. The possible causes for a faulty operation are investigated: The internal displacement of the secondary suspension are measured, along with performing compression tests to the springs that are present on the suspension; the load data is analyzed to determine which is the load that are actually present on the regular operation From the studies the main causes that generate damage are: a wrongly performed assembly; the lack of control during the assembly; the spring that i son the secondary suspension does not meets the original design for the train operation; The overload of passengers on the cars, because of the removal of seats or because of the changes on the operational conditions that the train we’re designed, they we’re designed to loads of 6 passengers by square meter on the peaks of operation and now they are being subject to 8, and even 10 passengers by square meter. Finally the problem and solutions are resumed, and this one is the lack of training of the personnel in the assembly of the secondary suspension and the purchase of new springs that meet the operation requirements.
