Departamento de Ingeniería Comercial; CARVALLO GONZÁLEZ, CRISTIAN ANTONIO; VALENZUELA OYANEDER, LIONEL ANDRÉSThis research begins to publicize the Knowledge Management and the importance of its appropriate implementation given that the greatest competitive advantage that organization have today its knowing how to do things well and know how to manage knowledge within themselves. Then this research announces the main models of Total Quality Management studied, containing the parameters proposed by the Knowledge Management, found the guidelines to unite these two management systems to identify the landmarks or elements of Total Quality Management which are mentioned or linked to Knowledge Management models. As regards compliance of each of the objectives, both the general and four specific objectives are fully met during the course of this investigation. Thus it is established that there are guidelines for Quality Management in the Knowledge Management showing that Total Quality Management is a model of Knowledge Management. Moreover, it manages to create a new model of knowledge management based on ISO 9001, this thanks to prior fulfillment of each of the specific objectives. Thus we can establish that a company that has implemented ISO 9001 quality management system has, therefore, implicitly, a model for knowledge management.
