Abstract
El aumento de la cantidad de datos generados por los sistemas informáticos de las
universidades ha producido que existan numerosas fuentes de datos, las cuales no
siempre se encuentran integradas. Esto dificulta la obtención de indicadores que
permitan a los directivos de las carreras, monitorear el proceso formativo y detectar en
forma oportuna posibles áreas a mejorar. Por ello se propone un sistema de Inteligencia
de Negocios para apoyar la gestión de la Subdirección de Pregrado del Departamento de
Informática (DI) de la UTFSM, en específico en lo que se refiere a avance de los
estudiantes en las asignaturas del plan de estudio y tiempos de titulación.
The increase in the amount of data generated by the computer systems of universities has produced numerous data sources, which are not always integrated. This makes it difficult to have automatic indicators that allow, through data from undergraduate students, both to enter the university system and during their progress, monitor their training process and detect possible areas for improvement. That is why a Business Intelligence system is proposed to support the management of the Undergraduate Sub-Directorate of the Department of Informatics (DI) of the UTFSM, specifically about the progress of students in the subjects and degree times.
