This Project stems from the proposal to operationalize electromechanical engraving machine, of which only the mechanical structure possessed. Thus, this paper will develop the basic engineering for refurbishment of this. It is also expected to obtain an economic assessment, which give a general idea of the scale of this project. This type of machine allows to prepare cylinders by gravure engraving technic, for use in rotogravure printing systems, issues to be addressed at the beginning of this paper. Later parts of the machine will be described, like the software used for the preparation of the works that are delivered to this, and the operation interface that should be used. Next, it will be explained the functionality and control loops, actuators and how they allow the system to operate, to finally give way to an economic evaluation. Only two companies control the global market, from sales to maintenance, so it is interesting to compete with it.
