    Thesis
IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE UN SISTEMA AUTÓNOMO PARA EL CONTROL DE UNA MANO ROBÓTICA MEDIANTE SEÑALES MIOELÉCTRICAS
(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) SCHWARZENBERG OLIVARES, JOHANNES BRUNO; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE ELECTRONICA; ESCOBAR SILVA, MARIA JOSE; AUAT CHEEIN, FERNANDO ALFREDO
The main objective of this thesis project is the design and implementation of an autonomous system for the control of a robotic hand through the analysis of the muscle signals on the forearm of a user. The main function of the system is demonstrative, to show the scope of the analysis of muscle signals when complemented with robotics and how it can directly benefit people with disabilities. In addition to supporting outreach initiatives on electronics and robotics, this system offers a platform to help research and development in the intelligent prosthetics area. The acquisition of muscle signals is achieved using the Myo armband, which internally classifies the signals and discerns the hand posture within a set of predetermined positions. This classification is sent by Bluetooth to a Raspberry Pi, which produces the control signals using the Servo Hat shield to move the servomotors of the robotic hand. To operate the system, there are two graphical user interfaces, one for the servomotor’s calibration and the other to communicate with the bracelet and generate the respective movements in the hand. An autonomous integrated computer is built to have a comfortable and simple system to be used in demonstrations and the outreach activities. For this, a casing is created, which protects the Raspberry Pi, the Servo Hat shield, power supplies and the devices that permit the charge and user interaction, obtaining one rechargeable device to which the hand servomotors and Bluetooth connector of the bracelet connect for it’s proper functioning.
