Thesis ACTUALIZACIÓN DE RENDIMIENTOS DE UNIDADES DE CONVERSIÓN DE ERA(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) ROJAS CASANGA, XIMENA PAULINA; ROJAS CASANGA, XIMENA PAULINA; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE INGENIERÍA QUÍMICA Y AMBIENTAL; RAMIREZ L, DANIEL ALBERTO; LIZANA ROBLEDO, CARLOS ANTONIOThis document presents a recompilation and analysis of empiric yields, that allows a comparison and analysis with the theoretical yields of the conversion unit in ERA (ENAP Refinerias Aconcagua). The data collected accounts for 10 conversion units, resulting in updated yields for 2012. During the calculation process, it was considered a set of corrections to the vectors following the characteristics of every unit, which distinguish every process yields. All these specification were described in the theoretical antecedents of this analysis. Furthermore, is important to underline the characterization of the feed has a main topic to study the presented returns. Thus, it was considered the main feed lines and product outputs (via Process Information system) and every component was rearranged, as presented in the RPMS model. Finally, the results were statistically analyzed, to choose the most representative value of each empiric yield. The results show deviations in all 10 units analyzed, considering comparison with both the MS spreadsheet and the RPMS model. A 70% of units presented an overestimation of product yields. At the same time, based in the plant manager’s requirements, a set of summary sheets (dashboard style) was designed. These sheets help to track the most important operation metrics for the product yields of the 4 main plant areas (Topping, Cracking, Hydrogen and Coker), while presenting the product yields itself for daily tracking. As a complement, 32 data characterizations of crude and unit lines were updated in the MS spreadsheet, helping to ensure that all the most accurate data was included in it. Also, a preliminary design of the lines feeding the Fuel Gas pool was completed as complement of the updated yields of the inputs of the last one, which allows obtaining a clearer view of the usage of these Fuel Gas lines and how could the layout be modified to meet the operational needs of the refinery.
