Thesis ESTUDIO COMPUTACIONAL DE EFECTO DE PROLONGACIONES DE CARENADOS DE RAÍZ DE ALA EN LA RESISTENCIA AERODINÁMICA DEL AVIÓN T-35 PILLÁN(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2015) PIZARRO AHUMADA, FELIPE RAMIRO; PIZARRO AHUMADA, FELIPE RAMIRO; ROSALES HUERTA, CARLOS EDUARDO; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE INGENIERÍA MECÁNICA; GEIRS, ROMAINThis TDT aims to present the basis for an additional study to the aeronautical engineering thesis submitted by the student at the Polytechnic Aeronautic Academy. The baseline study is called "STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF FAIRING WINGS ROOT IN THE RESISTANCE OF AIRCRAFT T-35 PILLAN" That study the aerodynamic drag of the aircraft T-35 Pillán when using fairings wings root, with the purpose of promoting improvements to its design. To do this research were designed and modeled two fairings; one extension and one without extension, in ANSYS CFX software. Drag and lift results were obtained by varying the angle of attack of the aircraft; thus obtaining results representing their influence on the performances of range and autonomy. The conclusion of this investigation was that the prolonged fairing decreases in total parasitic resistance, which triggered an increase in the range and parameters of autonomy, unlike the model without extension that did not show significant differences. Thus, was proposed the incorporation of said fairing to the aircraft T-35 PILLAN in order to optimize their design.
