Thesis DIAGNÓSTICO OPERACIONAL Y ANÁLISIS ECONÓMICO-ENERGÉTICO DE OPTIMIZACIÓN DEL FUNCIONAMIENTO DE CALDERAS DE RECINTO HOSPITALARIO(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) PARRA LAGOS, DIEGO ALEXIS; PARRA LAGOS, DIEGO ALEXIS; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM INGENIERÍA MECÁNICA; ESPINOZA SILVA, JAIMEThe Carlos Van Buren Hospital has high fuel consumption it is because their high energy demand reaches at of which 48% corresponds to thermal consumption. This high demand of gas is justified by the own activities of the hospital and particularly for large consumption of the fuel in the boiler room. Therefore the diagnostic process and economic and energy analysis developed in this paper allowed to delivery recommendations and suggestions to optimize the fuel consumption. The unit costs of the energy and steam is and respectively. The most important unit consumer in the hospital are surgical tower, kitchen and medical tower, which ones have and respectively. However these costs included the losses associated to the generation and distribution of steam therefore is important to consider the most critical looses in the boiler room mainly the consideration about the heat losses in the piping, boiler casing losses and blow down looses. Those ones reach about 8-9% of the total costs. Beside of it and according to the savings gained by quantified the preheat of feeding tank water of the ambient temperature to over the 50 ° C this allow saving up over 8% of the total costs of steam generation. In summary the developed work it provides the actual conditions of the boiler room and especially of the gas boiler in the HCVB. About this is possible to establish that the boiler room has a acceptable operating conditions, which are in agreement with current regulations and where through short-term investments I possible to reduce your monthly costs between 10 to 12% savings. It will allow finance the investments required for the optimize resources received for maintenance and repairs through of the General Service Unit. The above in one of the most important hospital in the country. Keywords: Hospital Carlos Van Buren, Boilers, Natural Gas, Steam, Optimization
