Thesis IMPACTOS ECONÓMICOS PARA EMPRESAS GENERADORAS POR RETRASO EN LA PUESTA EN SERVICIO DE LÍNEA CARDONES - POLPAICO(2017) Morales Tello, Daniel Enrique; Departamento de Industrias; Saez Carreño, Alejandro; Olmedo, Juan CarlosCurrently, the Central Interconnected System has strong restrictions related to transmission, specifically in its North side. These restrictions cause uncoupling in marginal costs, producing great economical prejudices, especially for generating companies that possess generating assets in the area, besides the inability to evacuate this low cost energy to big consumption centers.During great part of the day, when the solar resource is abundant, marginal costs of 0 USD/MWh are obtained, which cause that the energy injections have null valorization in several points and during most part of the dayThe current study, seeks to quantify, in an approximately way, the economic impact that generating companies must to endure. In order to do this, injections effects and energy evacuation will be analysis, due to the existence of certain companies that evacuate energy in congested areas and others that not, therefore, the injection energy can be done at very low marginal costs and the evacuation at higher.Besides, Sufficiency Power effect will be analysis, because of currently having two subsystems with different peak requirements in the SIC. Therefore, the contribution to the system sufficiency is different whether it is use an uncoupling or no uncoupling system.Finally, the effect of the compensation to Guacolda Plant by technical minimum over the rest of the analysis generators and the fact that they carry out evacuations in congested areas will be analysis.In relevance order, the effects that resulted more negative are injection and evacuation, follow it by Guacolda compensation by technical minimum, lastly, the effect in Sufficiency Power that will give an income increase of less than 1%, when the system is not congested.
