Departamento de IndustriasThe power efficiency and the innovation are the main points in the axes of the policies of State focused to solve the energy crisis to which Chile in scenes of fuel shortage or droughts is exposed. The situation country of maintained growth, policies of State, market and development of techniques and materials oriented to the power efficiency must be considered like an opportunity to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable people being implemented sustainable solutions. The evaluation of a proposal of power efficiency, directed appears throughout this memory to improve the thermal behavior of social houses by means of the use of additional isolation and the replacement of traditional glasses in the windows by thermos panels (double hermetic glass finish). For this study which was used as case bases a located social house on the commune of QuintaNormal (Metropolitan Region) of 53 [m²], for calculated saving by concept of heating of $1.591.648 for a service life of 20 years. This saving considerably greater is compared with the one than they throw Thermal Solar System, these last ones protected inLaw 20.365. A great interest in the real estate industry and of construction was detected to apply to new solutions and directed strategies to develop to sustainable houses, as well as certifications granted by specialized organizations thatrecognize the efforts and profits that become in this matter. In order to determine that a construction can be considered as sustainable the environmental impact in all the service life of this is due to evaluate, construction, operation and demolition. One wasthat a series of factors exists that can affect the power and economic performance of the house altering the demand by energy for heating as well as the intensity of the investment due to the design of the house. The main factors that affect the demand of heating energy are: the crudity of the winter represented in the external temperature, the regime of use of the heating equipment and the factor form that is a relation of the house with the neighboring constructions. Of the sensitivity analysis one concluded that while more unfavorable they were the conditions considered for the evaluation of this proposal of isolation, the economic performance improvement. Finally, the Chilean Thermal Regulation with the Spanish was compared and it was determined that althoughimportant profits exist, like being the first country of Latin America in implementing this type of norm, is permissive and therefore less it jeopardize with the power efficiency at domestic level.
