Thesis DISEÑO, CONSTRUCCIÓN Y PUESTA EN MARCHA DE UN SISTEMA DE MONITOREO REMOTO DE DENSIDAD DE POTENCIA ELECTROMAGNÉTICA ASOCIADA A TELEFONIA CELULAR(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) Ayala Santander, Alejandro Francisco; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE ELECTRONICA; OLIVARES VÉLIZ, RICARDO ALBERTO; CARRASCO ESPINOSA, HÉCTOR MARIOThis work gives evidence and analyzes the need to implement a system for measuring electromagnetic radiation associated with mobile telephony equipment within Chile. In front of this need, it´s provided a solution according to current international requirements and standards, already in force in our national legislation. Specifically, it´s about the design, construction and commissioning of a remote monitoring system of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation associated with mobile phone base station antennas. This monitoring system is made to measure, store and display in real time the electromagnetic radiation’s power density associated with cellular telephony base station, information available publicly via Internet. For the purposes described, a basic prototype system consisting of a remote measuring station is implemented. The prototype is made with the use of an inexpensive spectrum analyzer which transferred measurement data via a serial port to a Single Board Computer (SBC). The SBC receives the data, processes them and sends them, via a GPRS modem to a central server where they are plotted in real time and with a Geo reference on a website. The built prototype was characterized and his measurements validated in an anechoic chamber showing its limitations, capabilities and potentials.
