Thesis DISEÑO E IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE UN CURSO DE REDES MÓVILES BASADO EN HERRAMIENTAS COMPUTACIONALES DE PREDICCIÓN, SIMULACIÓN Y ANÁLISIS(Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, 2016) Acevedo Olivares, Daniel Marcelo; Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria UTFSM DEPARTAMENTO DE ELECTRONICA; GROTE HAHN, WALTER; CARRASCO ESPINOSA, HÉCTOR MARIOTo design a university level mobile cellular network course, an analysis of national and international courses related to the topic is performed. Based on this study, a course consisting of 3 learning modules covering 16 lecture and simulation laboratory activities is designed and developed. The objective of the course is for the student to learn the process of how to design and manage a wireless cellular network. Two software tools, one of cellular electromagnetic coverage prediction (Radio Mobile) and one to analyze signaling messages from traffic data collected from real life measurements (NS3: Network Simulator Version 3) are used for analysis. We developed and tested a course successfully with 12 third and fourth year engineering students from a 4 year Telecommunications Engineering Curriculum.
