Abstract
This work was carried out in the “La Cobaltera” project, in charge of the American company Genlith Group LLC, through its Chilean Cobalt Corporation (CCC) and its subsidiary Baltum Minería SpA. Associations of chemical elements were generated using the specialized program in geochemistry IMDEX ioGAS, with which, and based on the grade data obtained through the ultra-trace analytical method with ICP-OES and ICP-MS (ME-MS41), It was possible to determine that both for the project area corresponding to the Rosa Amelia, Rosa Amelia Menor and Farellón veins, there is a linear relationship between the elements cobalt-arsenic-manganese supported by the Pearson coefficient, which shows a degree of correlation between these two “Very Strong” elements. Due to the existing correlation between chemical elements (arsenic-cobalt-manganese), the samples present in the database were analyzed to determine the preference of cobalt to generate molecules in the company of the element arsenic or the element manganese, using ternary diagrams. It was shown that the element cobalt has a tendency to form bonds with arsenic in deep sectors and with manganese, in superficial sectors for the Rosa Amelia, Rosa Amelia Menor and Farellón veins
