MANUAL PARA EL DIMENSIONAMIENTO Y EVALUACIÓN DE UN ARREGLO FOTOVOLTAICO MONOFÁSICO A NIVEL RESIDENCIAL EN CHILE
Abstract
In the last decades, renewable energies have taken an avant-garde role in a clean and safe energy matrix, affirming a sustainable development for the human being, especially with solar energy. This is why, in this report, the author seeks that the reader is able to immerse themselves around the latter through tools for the dimensioning and evaluation of their own photovoltaic array at the housing level. To do this, the theoretical framework that seeks to cover topics regarding the Chilean energy context, solar energy and terrestrial orbital behavior in reference to the Sun will be presented through the first three chapters, moreover, it will be explained in which a photovoltaic module, its functioning and its role in the current market. Finally, by way of illustration, two sizing will be made representing the most common cases for an installation of this type, without leaving aside, step-by-step instructions on how to specify each of them together to true information. To conclude, as a result of both examples, an autonomous system and another one interconnected to the network, NPV values of $ -2,432,929 and a nonexistent IRR were obtained for the first case, unlike in the second case, where The NPV skirts the $ - 415,824 as a whole at a TIR of 1,192%. From this, it is concluded that in general a system dependent on the network has a higher degree of return than an autonomous one. In the case of the examples presented in this report, it is possible to recover the investment for a dependent system even though the required profitability (VAN <0; TIR> 0) is not met, on the other hand, for an isolated system, the investment is never recovered (VAN <0; TIR <0). A rate of return of 4.2% is used. From a negative IRR it follows that the benefit of the project will be less than the initial investment. The reason for this is simple, a network-dependent installation excludes from its dimensioning an energy reserve system (batteries), in other words, an autonomous system is subject to excessive expenses due to the reinvestments that must be generated in batteries during the life of the project, reflecting a significant decrease in NPV and IRR (lower profitability). As a recapitulation, the above results in an 18-year return to the system dependent on the network under a conservative methodology, ie, an unfavorable scenario. If we consider a more cost-effective context for our project, such as a nominal energy cost inflation rate of 5% per annum previously considered as 0%, a 13-year return can be achieved for the project Interconnected, obtaining a return higher than that required after recovering the investment (NPV = 279,345, TIR = 1,192%). For the autonomous installation, despite the fact that the annual benefit increases, its return period still leaves the useful life of the project, that is, greater than 20 years, and thus showing the superiority of a facility with connection to the network.
