En su forma más pura, la sustentabilidad, busca un equilibrio entre desarrollo y tres áreas: ambiental, económica y social. La oportunidad de investigar la sustentabilidad, en procesos de ingeniería, permite caracterizar la tendencia al cambio a nivel global en términos cualitativos y cuantitativos. Este trabajo presenta una alternativa para que la sustentabilidad pueda ser caracterizada considerando una serie de criterios e indicadores; permitiendo realizar una comparación eficiente entre empresas de la misma naturaleza, concluyendo con la elaboración y presentación de un caso estudio de evaluación.Sustainability within the industry is becoming more and more relevant every day. Processes are increasingly integrated, characterized from beginning to end, in the manufacture of a product or in the provision of a service. In its purest form, sustainability seeks a balance between development and three areas: environmental, economic and social. The opportunity to investigate sustainability in engineering processes allows us to characterize the trend of change ata global level in qualitative and quantitative terms.
