Abstract
The objective of this work considers the implementation of a methodology that can determine the performance of solar modules focusing on the effects of soiling and degradation. This study was carried out at the premises of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, San Joaquín Campus, Santiago de Chile. Meteorological, thermal and electrical data are collected to analyze the performance of a dirty panel, a broken panel and two clean panels from the end of May 2019 to December 2020. A performance index called performance ratio is obtained and through this Data base we proceed to analyze the effect of soiling and their degradation. Soiling rates were not influential for panels 2 and 3, whose average soiling rate was slightly higher than 1 [-], whereas panel 4 had an average soiling rate 0.986 [-]. On the other hand, the degradation rates of the panels obtained revealed the loss of power for each module, being module 3 the one that suffers the highest rate of power loss. The implemented methodology showed good results in detecting anomalies in the output power
