PROPUESTA DE UN FRAMEWORK PARA EL DESARROLLO DEL PENSAMIENTO COMPUTACIONAL EN COLEGIOS CHILENOS UTILIZANDO GAMIFICATION
Abstract
This work presents an approach of a Framework that has the purpose of develop and improve the skills associated with Computational Thinking, using Gamification as the main tool. The objective of this Framework is to gamify activities in school level education, helping teachers with the activity design. The Framework was built after a comprehensive revision of several studies associated with this subject, as different authors had already studied this subject and others had tested teaching Computational Thinking using a Gamification approach. Having said that, the key components of both Computational Thinking and Gamification were isolated and then mixed based on a logical criteria, with the main focus being always to maximize the Computational Thinking skills improvement, and being careful that Gamification components can coexist together in spite of the activity nature. Finally, the Framework fulfills the main objetive and helps teachers of different subjects to create gamified activities that accomplish to improve Computational Thinking skills of the students without having a very extense knowledge of game design.
