Abstract
This paper consists of the modeling of 2 simplified industrial Horizontal axis wind turbine blades, of 10 to 30 kilowatts of potency, with two distinct airfoils, one, FFA-W3-211, used in large industrial wind turbines and the other, DU-93-W-210, found to be the most efficient in 2D simulations for wind conditions relating to the country, to verify which one is most efficient using 3D simulation on the program OpenFOAM. The blade using the airfoil DU-93-W-210 was found to be the most efficient, this airfoil is recommended to be used in the future design of aerogenerators within the country for small scale alternative power generation.
