PLAN DE GESTIÓN DE RESIDUOS INDUSTRIALES SÓLIDOS Y LÍQUIDOS EN FAB LAB UTFSM

Abstract

La importancia de la gestión de residuos es un tema que cada día se habla más y surgen nuevas iniciativas que buscan reducirlos. Esto debido al daño que se produce con la creciente acumulación de éstos que existe hoy en día, ya que está afectando tanto a las personas como el medio ambiente. El cambio climático es una realidad, y exige tener un mayor cuidado y consciencia medioambiental. Por esta razón, es que en Chile se han creado normativas que están dando responsabilidades desde los productores e importadores, hasta los consumidores de ciertos productos catalogados como prioritarios. El Fab Lab (Laboratorio de Fabricación digital) de la Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, es un espacio en el que tanto personas internas como externas a la universidad pueden utilizar las herramientas disponibles en el laboratorio para sus proyectos. Actualmente, cuentan con diferentes equipos que permiten una gran variedad de materiales, con los que es posible desarrollar varios tipos de proyectos y con el tiempo, la cantidad de trabajos realizados ha ido en aumento. Hasta el momento, Fab Lab no cuenta con un plan para la gestión de residuos y tampoco, tienen algún control en relación con cuáles se generan ni en qué cantidades. Por esta razón, en este trabajo de título, se busca proponer un plan de gestión de residuos industriales, con en el que sea posible controlar la generación de éstos además de encontrar una forma de valorizarlos utilizándolos como recurso en un nuevo proceso.

The importance of waste management is a topic that is increasingly talked about every day and new initiatives are emerging that seek to reduce them. This is due to the damage that occurs with the increasing accumulation of these that exists today, since it is affecting both people and the environment. Climate change is a reality and requires greater care and environmental awareness. For this reason, it is that in Chile have been created regulations that are giving responsibilities from producers and importers to the consumers of certain products classified as priorities. The Fab Lab (Fabrication Laboratory) of the university “Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María”, is a space in which both people internal and external to the university can use the tools available in the laboratory for their projects. Currently, they have different equipment that allows a wide variety of materials, with which it is possible to develop various types of projects and over time, the amount of work done has been increasing. So far, Fab Lab does not have a plan for waste management and neither do they have any control in relation to which ones are generated or in what quantities. For this reason, in this tittle paper, it seeks to propose an industrial waste management plan, with which it is possible to control the generation of these in addition to finding a way to value them using them as a resource in a new process.
