The present work is about the importance of air cargo in times of pandemic, mainly that of COVID-19 that manifests at the end of 2019 and persists until today in 2021. This pandemic has been considered a global challenge in current times, both in health and socioeconomic terms, where it has put countries to the test to be able to face the virus and reduce the impact of the crisis it has caused. Air cargo is a fundamental business for the development of communities and the world economy, in which airlines are modifying their strategies and business models to survive the economic crisis that the pandemic has left. To identify this effect, a search will be carried out of the main cargo distributors and leading airlines of the year 2019 and it will be identified where they have worked to generate income despite the low demand that exists in passenger transport. A comparison will be made between the measures requested in previous pandemics, such as SARS and AH1N1, with the current COVID-19 pandemic to analyze how effective these measures have been. In addition to considering the treatment of air cargo, cleaning of aircraft before and after the flights, and protocols used by airlines and airports. On the opposite side, the strategies used by airlines and air cargo distributors will be evaluated to increase operations and income, due to of the closure of borders and quarantines implemented in the countries, negatively affected these companies. The slight increase in air cargo has been mainly due to the explosive use of Courier services (online shopping- delivery of merchandise) and the urgent transfer of medical supplies together with essential supplies to face the pandemic, it should be noted that aircraft cargo capacity is minimal and does not meet current demand. Finally, an estimate will be made of the economic impact that the current pandemic has left on the airline industry, focused on the air cargo market, such is the case that has been compared with the crisis generated in the Second World War and even the attack to the Twin Towers. It previses a slow recovery of the sector for the year 2024, which will also be analyzed.es_CL
