Abstract
As you may well know, Biogas is a biological type of fuel that is being used in a lot of places around the world, not just as a compund to produce energy or movement, but also to feed different kinds of populations and cities with clean gas for their daily life at home. Biogas is obtained as result of the aerobic and anaerobic digestion that takes place in different places in the enviroment, but we haven’t taken advantage of this and now we are paying the consequensces because of the global warming situation and the pollution of our seas and rivers. For this and many other reasons is why today biogas plants and systems are expanding and creating a new resource for us to embrace. The technologies now days are very mature and trustworthy because of the new industrial revolution that we’re living on. But with all that being said, why we didn’t used this type of fuel earlier? The best answer for this question is because of the taboo and ignorance that all human wastes carry. Human feces and trash have always been considered without any useful purpose, mainly because of its appereance and extremely bad smell, and of course because of all of the despiteful thoughts that has stained it over the years. But what if we could extract biogas and other stuff from them, what if we could give an use to this so hated element. Today there are many examples of countries that are taking advantage of that richfull resource like Germany, Sweden or India. Because of that more goverments are taking a more important role in this matter, not just because of the energy or fuel benefits that this resource carries, but also because of the impact in nature. We are talking about water recycling, manure production, no more waste realising to the natural world, etc. All of this only because we are getting ourselves more and more into this unknown situation of using trash to generate competent products. Biogas as said at the begininng, is the result of the anaerobic or aerobic digestion in nature, but scientist were able to replicate this process in the laboratory and create a sort of reactor where all the magic takes place. In this thesis we will talk about the anaerobic reaction that is the more eficient and efective generally speaking, how it works and the process that involves in it. And also there is a plan for create and install a reactor in the university with the purpose of obtain some real benefits out of this, and of course if all this works, maybe apply this system in other parts of the region that are in a strong need for new methods of water treatment.
