The present work consists in the impact study of a phenomenon called flashing onan stress analysis in a water transport system. In this study, the sensitivity of the analysis was analyzed by including the flashing phenomenon during the numerical simulation of the system, in order to determine the correlation degree between the phenomenon and the resulting loads and stresses within the downstream piping line. the analysis was guided by ASME B31.3 standard guidelines to analyze the stresses generated by sustained loads and thermal expansions. The procedure consisted primarily on the study of the behavior of flashing phenomenon in a piping system, specifically downstream of a control valve. For this, an investigation of the prediction and characterization phenomenon models was realized, data and experimental information of existing works and papers was also used. Later different vapor fraction were defined, then the change in speed and the forces generated by this phenomenon in the changes of direction were determined. All this data was incorporated to the numerical model made through CAESAR II software, to study the influence of the phenomenon in pipe system. Where phenomenon was modeled as force pair acting on each direction changes, with this the various load cases and their effect on the entire downstream system were analyzed. Finally, the correlation between the flashing forces and resulting stresses and loads from the analysis was analyzed through tables and graphs for their understanding. Thus being able to conclude clearly and precisely that for stress analysis in this system, the phenomenon does not generate a high force or significant variations, therefore, for this particular study, the phenomenon does not have a major influence on the results.es_CL
