Abstract
La ciudad de Valparaíso presenta una serie de amenazas que afecta a la protección del patrimonio y sus valores universales excepcionales (VUE), que lo hacen ser considerado como patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO. Estas amenazas pueden ser de origen natural y antrópicas como lo son los incendios, terremotos, vandalismo, rayados, etc.
La tesis pretende evaluar la vulnerabilidad frente a la amenaza de los rayados en diversos sitios del área histórica UNESCO de Valparaíso, con el fin de aportar a la disminución de rayados existentes en la ciudad, identificando los lugares mas propensos a ser afectados, cuales son sus características y factores que inciden en la realización de esta acción.
Para evaluar la vulnerabilidad se requiere realizar un levantamiento de información identificando los principales factores e indicadores de vulnerabilidad que afectan al área estudiada. Obtenida esta información se desarrolla una herramienta para el análisis de estos datos, dando como resultado una vulnerabilidad hipótesis. Esta vulnerabilidad hipótesis se contrasta con un registro fotográfico de las fachadas de los sectores analizados, con el fin de comparar los datos obtenidos de la herramienta con el nivel de rayado real.
Los resultados obtenidos confirman la posibilidad de diseñar una herramienta de evaluación de vulnerabilidad para este tipo de amenaza, ajustada a la condición del caso área UNESCO de Valparaíso. Donde se puede apreciar que existen características espaciales, tipo de uso del inmueble y actividades que se realizan en su cercanía que afectan a sectores haciéndolos más vulnerables.
The city of Valparaiso is having a series of threats affecting the protection of the heritage and its outstanding universal values, which makes it a world heritage by the UNESCO. These threats can be originated naturally or anthropic, such as fires, earthquakes or vandalism, graffiti, etc. This thesis’s aim is to evaluate the vulnerability to the threat of graffiti in varied places of the historic area of UNESCO in Valparaiso, with the objective of diminishing the current illegal paintings in the city, identifying which places are more likely to be affected, which are its characteristics and the factors that may cause this threatening action. In order to evaluate the vulnerability, it is required to realize a gathering information identifying the main factors and vulnerability indicators that affect the specific studied area. Once the information is acquired, a tool for the analysis of data will be developed, giving results of a vulnerability hypothesis. This vulnerability hypothesis will be contrasted with a photographic record of house fades in the analysed area, in order to compare real data of the paintings with the information obtained through the tool mentioned earlier. The results obtained confirm the possibility to design an evaluation tool towards the vulnerability in this type of threat, adjusted to the condition of the case area of UNESCO in Valparaiso, where it is possible to recognise the existence of special features and characteristics, the usage of the different houses and facilities, and activities carried out in the area which may be affecting the buildings and making them more vulnerable.
