The high costs in the processing of copper sulphides via crushing, grinding and flotation have been a constant problem for mining companies, given that there has been a mineralogical change of the deposits, going from secondary sulphides to primary sulfides (chalcopyrite), added to the decrease in laws, reaching minerals with laws around 0,2% Cu, known as low grade sulfides. This is why, the great challenge in mining has focused on giving profitability to processing these minerals, so today the best choice is to process them through a hydrometallurgical road, since this route has lower costs of processing. During the last years several studies have been added focused on the pretreatment and the subsequent dissolution of concentrates and calcopyritic minerals, being able to determine that the dosage of NaCl in the pretreatment provides better results than the conventional leaching. In the present work, the dosage of NaNO3 is added in the pretreatment to form regia water "in situ" through the application of the modified EMELA® methodology, with which to generate a more aggressive attack of the mineral. On the other hand, several determinant variables of the leaching stage are modified, these are: pH, chloride concentration, granulometry, temperature and time of process, with this the best working condition is determined. A maximum copper extraction of 83% (0,48 [g/L]) and 40% iron (2,4 [g/L]) of a mineral with a grade of 0,12% Cu is achieved. and 1,13% Fe, from a pretreatment dosing NaCl and NaNO3 at a ratio of 5: 1 with respect to the formation of HCl and HNO3 respectively, an acid consumption of 80%, an impregnation humidity of 20% and a rest of 14 days. A leaching at pH 1, a leaching solution with 70 [g/L] Cl-, 1,5 [g / L] Fe2+ and 0,2 [g / L] Cu2+, a leaching time of 3 [h], a temperature at 65 ° C, 370 rpm, 25% solids and working with a granulometry -90 [μm]. By means of a statistical analysis with the help of the IBM SPSS Statistics program, the influence of the granulometry between +75-90 [μm] is determined in leaching, in addition to its sensitivity to changes in granulometry and temperature.en
