EVALUACIÓN TÉCNICA Y ECONÓMICA DEL PROCESO EN INSTALACIÓN DE PANELES FOTOVOLTAICOS DE 1 MW EN LOS CAMPUS Y SEDES DE LA UTFSM

Abstract

Esta memoria se enmarca dentro de un contrato JCM entre Japón, varias institucionesinternacionales y la Universidad. JCM es un mecanismo de financiamiento paraproyectos que generen reducciones importantes de CO2. El contrato compromete a laUniversidad a comprar la energía eléctrica generada por los paneles por un período de20 años, a un valor menor que el sistema tradicional de electricidad. Los módulos dealta eficiencia utilizados (HIT 320) fueron instalados en Campus Casa Central, SedeViña del Mar, Campus San Joaquín y Campus Vitacura, sumando un total de 3054 panelessolares.El objetivo general de este trabajo es la realización de una evaluación técnica yeconómica del proceso de instalación de 1MW de paneles fotovoltaicos en la UTFSM,siguiendo dos pasos. En primer lugar, para el análisis técnico, se desarrolló una bitácorade las instalaciones siguiendo los hitos relevantes. Segundo, para el análisis económico,se determinó un valor aproximado del ahorro esperado por el proyecto, además de losriesgos que se pudieran presentar en una inversión de este tipo.Para poder realizar el análisis técnico, se verificó mensualmente la instalación medianteuna bitácora para registrar avances con apoyo fotográfico, a nivel de suelo (cámara)y a nivel aéreo (dron), y una inspección visual del sombramiento de los paneles. Enparalelo, se hizo una simulación del arreglo solar y una estimación de la reducción deCO2. En lo económico, para determinar el ahorro que tendría la Universidad durante20 años, se consideró el consumo promedio mensual entregado, y para los costos de lalínea base, el tipo de cliente en cada establecimiento. Para analizar el caso hipotéticode una inversión por parte de la UTFSM se usaron los criterios de VAN y TIR.

The context of this thesis is a JCM contract between Japan, several internationalinstitutions and the University. JCM is a financing mechanism for projects that generatesignificant CO2 reductions. The contract commits the University to buy the electricenergy generated by the solar panels for a period of 20 years at a lower value than thetraditional electricity system. The high efficiency modules used (HIT 320) were installedin Campus Casa Central, Sede Viña del Mar, San Joaquin Campus and VitacuraCampus, adding a total of 3054 solar panels.The general objective of this thesis is the execution of a technical and economicevaluation of the installation process of 1MW of photovoltaic panels in the UTFSM.First, for the technical analysis, a logbook of the facilities was developed to record thecritical points. Second, for the economic analysis, an approximate value of the savingsexpected by the project was calculated. In addition, it was calculated the risks that couldarise in an investment of this type.To accomplish the technical analysis, the installation was recorded monthly througha logbook of the progress using photographic support at a ground level (camera) and atthe aerial level (drone), also a visual inspection of the shadowing of the panels. In parallel,a simulation of the solar array and an estimation of the CO2 reduction. In respectof the economic evaluation, to calculate the savings that the University would have for20 years, the average monthly consumption delivered was considered. For the costs ofthe baseline, the type of client in each establishment was considered as well. The NPVand IRR criteria were used to analyze the hypothetical case of an investment by theUTFSM.
