FLUJO ÓPTIMO DE POTENCIA CONSIDERANDO RESTRICCIONES Y CRITERIOS DE ESTABILIDAD DE TENSIÓN
Abstract
This thesis presents a mathematical method adding a computational algorithm that allows solving an optimal power flow with the restrictions for voltage stability. Specifically, the mathematical algorithm executes a minimization of operating cost in the dispatch of active and reactive power of an electrical power system, considering the transmission lines power flows, nodal balances, technical limits of the system and security restrictions related to voltage stability conditions. The incorporation of voltage security restrictions in optimization problems to determine the optimal power flow allows increasing the system’s chargeability margin and also taking into account security aspects. The methodology is done in the Python programming language using the Pyomo optimization problem modeling package to formulate the different power system conditions. The simulations are applied in two approaches, the first with continuous variables (non-linear problem) and the second with discrete variables (mixed integer non-linear programming). The non-linear problem is solved with the ipopt solver, which implement a primal-dual interior point method and uses line searches based on filter methods (Fletcher and Leyffer), while the mixed integer non-linear problem is solved with the Bonmin solver, which is based on the inner point method of higher order or branch and bound algorithm. Finally, the proposed algorithm is validated in electrical networks of the IEEE type and in a reduced network of the National Electric System. The results obtained from the optimal power flow are compared with the results of Matpower to verify the correct operation of the algorithm. Then, the simulation times are compared between the different networks to see the relationship that exist between the system size and the time simulation. The conclusions of this thesis are obtained from the convergence analysis, resolution time and security levels.
