DISEÑO DE INSTALACIÓN PARA MEDICIÓN DE COEFICIENTES DE TRANSFERENCIA DE CALOR Y CAÍDA DE PRESIÓN EN MEZCLAS ZEOTRÓPICAS DURANTE SU CONDENSACIÓN A TEMPERATURAS CRIOGÉNICAS
Abstract
In the following document the guidelines and results for the design of an experimental installation for measuring the local heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of zeotropic mixtures during their condensation in horizontal microchannels at cryogenic temperatures are presented. Zeotropic mixtures of hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, and propane) and synthetic refrigerants (R- 14, R-23, R-32 and R-134a) will be tested in the installation, including their versions with nitrogen and argon content respectively. The operating pressure range goes from 200 to 1100 [kPa] and the mass flux from 150 to 250 [kg/m2s]. The fluid properties are obtained from the software REFPROP.First of all, the length of the Cryocooler and Recuperator heat exchangers are calculated based on the required refrigeration temperature, and then the length of the measuring section is estimated in order to maintain a hydrodynamically developed flow in this region. The length of the active measuring section is determined based on the percentage error between the local and average heat transfer coefficients, which must not be greater than 10%. Finally, an uncertainty propagation analysis is carried out in order to determine the minimum and maximum heat that can be extracted from the mixture, so the uncertaintyof the measure is lower than 10%, and the variation of the fluid properties isn’t important along the measuring section respectively.
