EFICIENCIA DE LA ADMINISTRACIÓN DEL RECURSO HÍDRICO EN EL RIEGO A TRAVÉS DE LA AUTOMATIZACIÓN DE COMPUERTAS DE CANALES

Abstract

Debido a la sequía vivida en los últimos años en Chile, el sector agrícola se ha visto obligado a mejorar el uso de agua a través de nuevas tecnologías y obras civiles asociadas al riego.Una de estas nuevas tecnologías es la automatización de las compuertas automatizadas y para conocer sus beneficios, se analiza la eficiencia en la administración de agua producida al implementar esta tecnología, a través de la investigación del sistema de automatización con telemetría y obras civiles asociadas para la administración de canales de regadío localizados en la Región del Libertador Bernardo O´Higgins, y para ello se estudian proyectos postulados a la CNR de la sexta región. También se entrevista a gerentes o administradores de Juntas de vigilancia y asociaciones de canalistas con el fin de contrastar el resultado del uso de compuertas tradicionales con compuertas automatizadas, costos de implementación y mantención, y beneficios y desventajas de los sistemas automatizados que administran.Con la implementación de compuertas automatizadas en canales de riego se logra una mayor transparencia en la asignación del recurso hídrico, haciendo entrega de este de manera eficaz y eficiente, produciéndose así un ahorro de agua.Si bien se trata de inversiones grandes para las OUA, en Chile existe la Ley 18.450 que favorece la inversión privada en este tipo de obras, complementando sus esfuerzos con aportes del Estado a través de concursos realizados por la CNR.

Due to the drought experienced in recent years in Chile, the agricultural sector has been forced to improve the use of water through new technologies and civil works associated with irrigation.One of these new technologies is the automation of automated gates and to know their benefits, the efficiency in the water management produced by implementing this technology is analyzed, through the investigation of the automation system with telemetry and associated civil works for the Administration of irrigation canals located in the Region of the Liberator Bernardo O'Higgins, and for this study projects postulated to the CNR of the sixth region. It also interviews managers or administrators of Monitoring Boards and channel associations in order to contrast the results of using traditional floodgates with automated floodgates, implementation and maintenance costs, and benefits and drawbacks of the automated systems they administer.With the implementation of automated floodgates in irrigation channels, greater transparency in the allocation of the water resource is achieved, effectively and efficiently delivering this, resulting in water savings.Although large investments are made for OAU, in Chile there is Law 18,450 which favors private investment in this type of work, complementing its efforts with contributions from the State through contests made by the CNR.
